The first MOHALLA CLINIC in Maharashtra was inaugurated on Aug 21 , by AAP National Executive Member , Shri Sanjay Singh , at Kurla , Mumbai in the presence of Shri Ashutosh Sengar, Shri Satish Jain, Ms Prabha Pandey, Dr Santosh karmarkar and Dr Bhojraj and thousands of aam aadmi. The main objective of the AAP KA MOHALLA CLINIC is to provide quality , affordabl . healthcare to the severely deprived aam aadmi of the city.
The MOHALLA CLINIC will function as a Primary Healthcare Centre plus Polyclinic which will provide FREE basic drugs and FREE consultations with Doctors . Something the BJP- SHIV SENA government has been unable to provide inspite of a budget of 40,000 crores !
Based widely on the Delhi model , it differs in the key aspect of funding.
The AAP KA MOHALLA CLINIC , receives no financial support from the State. It survives and sustains itself on donations from Volunteers and well- wishers.
In this respect, the MOHALLA CLINIC
in Mumbai is a revolutionary step as it directly questions & exposes the corrupt practices of the incumbent government. The aam aadmi has , on it's own initiative, created a place for other aam aadmi , to find relief from unendurable suffering. It is the job of the government, which collects taxes, from this same aam aadmi , to provide basic health delivery systems for him.
Crumbling Healthcare centres built in the 70's and 80's cannot bear the burden of an ever rising population.Yet , as in education , very few new facilities have been added.Whereas the Delhi government has already built 139 new MOHALLA CLINICS within 18 months. In addition, with almost the same Population size, Delhi will have 1000 MOHALLA CLINICS by December !
This is the second key aspect of the Mumbai initiative - it is not restricted to providing relief for the few within it's reach , but to demand FREE BASIC HEALTHCARE FOR ALL , AS A BASIC RIGHT !
From now on , the BJP - SHIV SENA combine will be under constant pressure by the AAM AADMI PARTY to fulfill its duties towards its hard working ,tax paying citizens. Cheaper Electricity, Regular Water Supply , Better Roads , Shelter , Education , Food , Health, Electricity are the other issues that would be taken up by the Aam Aadmi Party. Basic drugs and consultations with Doctors will be free . We believe that the sena-bjp combine have ruined the health care and education system in the BMC
